About the Role:
An innovative organisation within the advanced manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their Circuit Card Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing business unit. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key contributor in a high-mix, low-volume production environment experiencing significant growth.
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will focus on the manufacturing of complex PCBA products, playing a vital role in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and representing manufacturing in technical discussions. You will collaborate closely with test, manufacturing, and quality engineers, as well as build strong relationships with operations, design support, and maintenance teams.

Role Responsibilities:
– Leading and supporting continuous improvement activities within the PCBA manufacturing area.
– Representing the manufacturing team in various technical forums.
– Identifying and resolving technical problems on the shop floor.
– Supporting the manufacturing team’s growth and rate increase initiatives.
– Contributing to the Non-Conformance Process.
– Liaising with the design authority during product development to ensure Design for Manufacture (DfM) and during production for change implementation, including supporting new product introduction (NPI) by contributing to manufacturability design rules.
– Ensuring processes and equipment adhere to safety standards and legal obligations.
– Developing and maintaining robust and repeatable manufacturing methods, processes, and equipment.
– Performing and reviewing Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs).
– Developing tooling to enhance the manufacturing process.
– Creating and modifying machine programs for PCBA manufacturing and inspection.
What We’re Looking For From You:
– Proven experience in Circuit Card Manufacturing or Design.
– Strong knowledge of PCBA processes and technologies.
– A highly motivated and enthusiastic approach to supporting a high-performing team.
– Demonstrated proactive approach to process improvements.
– Proficiency in computer and internet use, including Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP, MES).
– Training in IPC J Std-001 and IPC-610 (beneficial).
– Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and its prevention (beneficial).
Qualifications:
Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 AND Formal further education certificate to HND or equivalent in a relevant subject

BEng/BSc in a relevant Engineering/Technical Degree
